coaching in management skills in the context of preparation for selection
processes (including executive level), and in the in the context of
career/professional development. Coaching
services involve identifying the particular needs of the individual, identifying
opportunities for the client to practice new skills or observe his/her behaviour
and its impact, sharing skills and knowledge, providing reading material and a
forum for discussing new ideas or individual action plans, debriefing

a succession plan for the 4 ADM positions reporting to the Associate DM.
The work involves interviewing the ADM’s about their jobs, the
challenges and the competencies required to do the work, and interviewing the
Associate DM about what she needs from her team members, identifying where
candidates from these jobs might be found, and writing a report documenting each
job’s challenges, required competencies, and sources for future candidates. Human

consultant was the subject matter expert on the upcoming Horizontal Audit of HR
Planning. The work has involved

and Employment Branch Organization Design HRSDC
June,
2007 Analyze
and design the new executive-level organization structure for a newly created
Branch of HRSDC. The ADM required a
new structure to reflect the amalgamation of two Branches.
The work involved interviewing most of the executive staff in the Branch
and working closely with the ADM to develop and describe the new structure.
The ADM received approval for the new structure from the Deputy Minister
and the department’s Executive Committee.
The Branch senior management committee were closely consulted and
accepted the final model.
